And for many fans, the romantic relationships formed between various characters were some of the highlights of the show's 52-episode run. The sequel series, which ran from 2012 to 2014, stars a cast of teenagers and young adults because of that, the themes and conflicts are a tad more mature than those of the previous series. Korra is tasked with keeping the peace between the four nations in the brand new Republic City-founded by Avatar Aang-which acts as a place for people of all nations to congregate. Set 70 years after the end of the first series, The Legend of Korra follows the titular character, who's the new Avatar of the four regions of the world-the Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Air Nomads and the Fire Nation.

But sure, I wouldn’t rule out a return to the world of Avatar in animated form someday, anything’s possible. They are also working with the creators on a live action adaptation of The Last Airbender that will hopefully wash the stain of the M. Netflix has already recognized the talent behind the show, which is why they gave them The Dragon Prince, their own new series. If all of this is getting you excited for Netflix to potentially greenlight more seasons of these shows or do a new, third series, hold your sky bison. Regardless, I am absolutely sure that Korra will be a huge hit on Netflix too, as once people finish the original series, why not look for 50 episodes of a sequel show?
